New Traditions

So finally, school is out. For break.

When I was younger, they called it "Christmas Vacation." Now it's "Winter Break." I don't know what it is with the world and political correctness.

Anyway, I'm out of school, probably gonna fail English, but I'm glad to be home. Not like I wasn't already, but now I can relax at home.

Since my family is very family oriented, we usually have the traditional turkey on Christmas Eve with my grandma, aunts, uncles, the whole sha-bang. But tonight, my grammie decided to go to a party, so my mom asked what we should do for Christmas Eve.

We've been wanting tacos for dinner for awhile now, but never made them. Thinking of this, I shouted "let's have tacos!" Excitedly, I further exclaimed, "Oh my God! Let's have a Mexican night!"

So we just finished eating our tacos and Mexican rice and finished drinking our beer. But we also kept the tradition of watching "The Santa Clause" every Xmas Eve. I just think it's really amusing that my mom took me seriously and planned a Mexican night. Especially for such a traditionally uptight holiday. We were gonna make margaritas, but we would have had to stop at the liquor store and we were just coming home from Boston. We also joked about getting a piñata and wearing sombreros.

We settled for beer.

And that works for me.
